Clinic pilot · invitation

Test Veylo next to your 3D camera.

Same patients, same visit: a VECTRA capture and a Veylo iPhone scan. Then we follow real treatments over three months.

  • 3–5 min per scan
  • Observational
  • No cost beyond staff time

Part 1

Scan accuracy: Veylo alongside VECTRA

Who
10–20 adult volunteers — staff or patients who consent.
What
Same person, same day: a VECTRA capture with the clinic’s usual protocol and a Veylo scan on an iPhone with Face ID; neutral expression, lips closed. A second Veylo scan for repeatability.
Result
Surface distance in mm after alignment, separately for the chin, jawline, under the chin, cheeks, nose and lips, plus the repeatability of Veylo’s scan.
Time
About 3–5 minutes per Veylo scan; about 10 minutes per person including VECTRA.
Data from the clinic
A 3D surface export from the VECTRA software in an agreed format, labelled with a participant code instead of a name.
Part 2

Before and after: real treatments

Who
Patients who already have a treatment planned and consent. The study is observational: it changes neither the treatment nor the plan.
When
A scan before treatment and at fixed times after it, for example at 2 weeks and 3 months; for fillers also right after injection.
Treatment record
Product, amount (ml, mm or units), site and plane, implant model and size — on a short form without personal data.
What for
Comparing Veylo’s visualization with the measured result in the treated area, and calibrating the ml/mm → tissue-change conversion, including over time.
Time
About 3–5 minutes per scan and about 2 minutes for the treatment form at each visit.
Scale
We start with a few cases per treatment.

Why a pilot: this data doesn’t exist yet.

  • 0.44 mmiPhone X vs VECTRA H1, 16 people[1]
  • 1.1 mmiPhone 14 Pro TrueDepth vs VECTRA M5, 30 people[2]
  • 0 of 17simulation-vs-result studies covered fillers, chin, jaw, cheeks or lips[3]

Those phone scans were processed by other apps. Veylo’s own scan hasn’t been validated yet — we want to measure it with you, and publish, even if Veylo falls short.

What it takes, and what you get.

  • An iPhone X or newer with Face ID, iOS 16.4 or later
  • The Veylo app (TestFlight beta) — nothing else
  • About 3–5 min per scan, 2 min for the treatment form
  • No training: the app guides each scan step by step
  • One contact person and patients who consent

What we provide

  • Protocol, treatment form and consent templates
  • Data processing agreement (GDPR Art. 28)
  • Encrypted transfer and storage
  • Analysis and the results report
  • Bioethics committee application

What we can offer

  • Free Veylo Premium for the clinic team
  • Co-authorship of any publication
  • A partner mention — only if you want it
  • The full report and aggregated data for your own use
  • Early access to clinic features and a say in the clinic link

Consent, retention and agreements in detail
  • Explicit consent

A face scan combined with treatment information is health data, so explicit consent is needed (GDPR Article 9). We ask separately about validation, calibrating the visualization, and showing images to clinician raters.

  • Pseudonymisation

Each participant gets a code. The code list stays at the clinic; Veylo receives scans and treatment records without names, national ID numbers or contact details.

  • Data minimisation

We collect only what the protocol needs. Age only in bands, and only if it is needed.

  • Retention

Data are encrypted, with access limited to the research team. The retention period is set in the protocol and the consent form; after it, the data are deleted.

  • Withdrawal

A participant can withdraw consent at any time without giving a reason; we then delete their data. Results already aggregated are not affected.

  • Bioethics committee

Before collecting data for publication we will request a bioethics committee opinion for an observational study.

  • Data processing agreement

Before the start, the clinic and Websitters Sp. z o.o. sign a data processing agreement (GDPR Article 28) setting out purposes, scope and safeguards.

  • Never for advertising

Participants’ face images are not used in advertising, marketing or analytics. Publications show aggregated results, and images only with separate consent.

This describes our approach and is not legal advice. We will prepare the documents and agree them with the clinic before the pilot starts.

Questions

Is this a clinical investigation of a medical device?

No. Veylo is not a medical device — it does not diagnose, plan treatment or predict results. The pilot is observational: the clinic treats as usual, and we only measure.

Does the patient need an iPhone?

No. Staff scan on a clinic iPhone with Face ID (iPhone X or newer, iOS 16.4 or later).

Do staff need training?

No. The app guides each scan step by step and checks light, distance and head position as it goes.

What does it cost the clinic?

Nothing beyond staff time: about 3–5 minutes per scan and about 2 minutes for the treatment form.

Can we stop?

Yes, at any time. Data collected up to then are handled under the agreement and the participants’ consent.

Will the results be public?

We want to publish them with the method, including if Veylo falls short. The clinic is named only with your permission.
